Round 1 of the 2016 EVO Cities MTB Series

The Event

The Al Dente - Winter's Edge XC is back for 2016 and will be held on Sunday 17th April 2016. The event is part of the EVO Cities MTB Series and as such supports the eligible EVO categories; Solo, Pairs and the new Evocities Teams category.

This year Solo, Pairs and Teams will compete in a 6 hour event. The trail builders have been hard at work over the last 12 months nad have built some great new trails at the Bathurst Bicycle Park. The course this year will be slightly shorter at 9km with approx 25% new trail.

Open Mixed - Male/Female/Junior
Junior riders must comply to mtba guidelines with respect to race durations. please note the online entry only allows a set number of team members, if you would like to enter with more than 3, please enter details for 3 riders and email us atinfo@wintersedgexc.com with details of any other riders.

Track will be open all day for practice, except for a 2 hour window when our junior race is on.

Event Catering Opens: 6.30am
Event Rego: 6.30am to 8.30am
Rider Briefing: 8.45am
Race Start: 9.30am
6 Hour Race Cut-off: 3.30pm
6 Hour Presentation: 4.30pm

  • Junior Event

    The Al Dente - Junior Winter Waahoo!! is a 2hr kids MTB relay race on the Saturday before the Evocities race at the Bathurst Bike Park. It will be held on Saturday 16th April 2016.

    In Bathurst we are really pushing to get our kids riding and racing on interesting trails which are fun yet achievable for all abilities. So this won’t be just a kids race around a car park, but on a specially designed kids trail approx. 2-3km long (TBC). There are some uphills, downhills and easy obsacles to challenge riders, but it will be lot’s of fun! So please come and join us and give your kids the opportunity to feel the buzz from team participation in an endurance format.

  • Where to Stay

    The closest accommodation to the Bathurst Bicycle Park is at the Bathurst Goldfields, located on Mount Panorama, just a short 5 minute drive away.

    The Goldfields has a 20 room motel that can sleep up to 4 people per room along with 4 lodges that sleep from 26 people up to 66 people. Total number of beds available 260.

    Dormitory styled bunk bed accommodation (Lodges) are $50 per person per bed per night all linen supplied. Motel rooms are $130 per night twin share with each additional person $50, maximum 4 per room.
